Championship Series
Game 1 - Colorado 129, Campbell County 112
Believe it or not, this game was tied with approximately 3 minutes
left to go. The Cougars had been ice cold all game long, shooting
less than 30%, but had somehow stormed back from a 13 point deficit to
achieve that tie. But the Rockies got hot when it mattered, and
took over the defensive glass. Kobe Bryant led all scorers with
31, Dirk Nowitzki had 25, Richard Jefferson 23, and Chris Kaman 20
boards for the Rockies, Lebron James led the Cougars with 26, Garnett
had 21, Stoudemire had 20 boards. Weird stat of the game:
The Rockies had 62 boards, only 2 of them offensive.
Box Score
Game 2 - Colorado 141, Campbell County 118
Colorado puts on another impressive, dominating all around game.
The Rockies shot out to a 12 point first quarter lead, and other than one
point in the 3rd when the Cougars clawed their way back to within 8, never
looked back, hitting clutch baskets and 3's and grabbing every key rebound.
The Rockies boasted a balanced scoring attack, with Nash and Bryant netting
26 each, Jefferson and Nowitzki adding 24 each. The Cougars suffered
from front line foul trouble and shot an unimpressive 42% from the floor.
Lebron James led all scorers with 37 in the loss.
Box Score
Game 3 - Campbell County 126, Colorado 100
In a role reversal, Campbell County uses a swarming defense, getting 13
steals and forcing 21 other turnovers (total of an incredible 34). The
Cougars built a 15 point first quarter lead, and it was never closer than 10
after that. Neither team shot the lights out, but the turnover
disparity ended the Rockies win streak. Lebron James led the Cougars
with 29, 8 boards, and 8 assists, Stoudemire added 25, Leandro Barbosa,
getting the starting nod for the first time in the series, added 19.
Dirk Nowitzki led the Rockies with 28 and 20 boards, Richard Jefferson added
19. Box Score
Game 4 - Campbell County 129, Colorado 117
Campbell County found their range in the 4th after a very tight first 3
quarters that saw the lead change hands over 20 times, ending in a tie.
Colorado again had a big turnover night with 25, with Nash and Bryant
accounting for 16 of those. Amare Stoudemire and Leandro Barbosa had
23 each for the Cougars, Garnett adding 21, James 20 on poor shooting.
Other than the turnovers, Kobe was everywhere, scoring 37, Nash adding 22,
Jefferson 20. Box Score
Game 5 - Campbell County 134, Colorado 116
Colorado scored the first 5, Campbell County the next 16 and coasted to
the win. Except for coming within 5 late in the first half, the
Rockies couldn't put a good run together. They took better care of the
ball, with only 19 TO's, but the 13 of those were thefts by the Cougars.
The 19-12 TO advantage, with 16 ORB's to 5, gave the Cougars 13 extra shots
and 10 extra free throws. Lebron found his range with 31 and 10
boards, Stoudemire had 27 and 14 boards. Kobe led the Rockies with 27
and 10 boards, Nowitzki added 21, Nash had 14 assists.
Box Score
Game 6 - Campbell County 117, Colorado 109
A game of runs, Campbell County ran off the first 8 points of the game
and led 13-2, only to have Colorado race back to lead 23-21. The
Cougars ran back to 37-25, the Rockies 42-41, and the Cougars to a 60-51
halftime lead. The whole 3rd quarter seemed like a Rockies run, and
they led 88-82. The 4th belonged to the Cougars, they took the lead
for good with around 8 minutes left, built it to 11 with 4 left, and held on
for the 2009 AABL CHAMPIONSHIP win. The Cougars had 12 steals and
forced 16 other turnovers to compensate for another weak shooting
performance. Lebron James led the Cougars with 30 and 10 assists,
finals MVP Amare Stoudemire had 26 and 17 boards, Leandro Barbosa added 23.
The Rockies were led by Kobe with 29, Dirk added 24 with 14 boards, Richard
Jefferson had 22. Box Score

Finally
And earlier than the last few years, we have finished our
season. Click on the standings and stats buttons to view the
results and, if you wish, download the game file showing all games
played. Trading for next season is now OPEN.
Our playoff matchups:
Trautman Conference
Knoxville vs Mesabi
Campbell County vs Langley
Jordan Conference
Colorado vs Hampton
California vs Collinsport
The above matchups reflect a tie-breaker in the standings between
Hampton and Collinsport. Collinsport won the season series 4-2 and
is therefore seeded higher, will draft later in the first round and
ealier in the 2nd round of our rookie/free agent draft.
I'll need to know from each playoff team how you would like your
games to be handled. The last few years, we may have one series
played head to head, but mostly I've played them computer vs computer,
one game per night, with an opportunity each day for the coaches to
adjust their lineups. The championship series, I've played by hand
to ensure the starter minutes are optimized. If you'd like to play
your games head to head, let me and your opponent know. I also
have options to allow each home team to play 2 games, after which I'll
get neutral parties to play the remainder.
Each playoff coach, regardless, will need to send me any updates to
their coach files. I'll incorporate and send out a playoff file
for use. Please do this by the end of next week (May 31) so we can
get the first round started.
The roster file has been updated (click the Roster button and
download the file of your choice. The game file is still the old
file).
I'll pick a day for the draft lottery after round 1 of the playoffs.
